Sweetie has been Found and Returned Home
to his little Brother & Family!
A message from Sweetie's Mom:
"Thank you to all the well wishers and bird patrollers who have kept an eye out for my baby boy. Your tips were appreciated. I want to let you know that Sweetie is happy to be home and is being spoiled by all his exstatic family of both humans and birds. Please use my unfortunate experience as a reminder to watch for doors and windows as these little guys are curious and adventurous and WILL take the opportunity to escape even though they will regret it themselves. It is just their nature. Luckily my experience ended happily and my little fid is home. Now,,,, I have some wings to clip. THANK YOU AGAIN ALL!!!"

If you do find a bird, Please remember that this little or big bird had a mommy and/or daddy & family. Just because the bird has been lost it does not give you Any right to just keep the bird as your own. That is Illegal just as if you found a child...does not give you the right to keep him or her.
A Few Tips if you have lost your bird:
1.) Always keep on hand, a folder with information about your bird. Such as the Band number, description of your bird, colors, mutation, unusual markings and a few pictures if possible.
2.) If you happened to see your bird fly away, watch which direction he/she has flown. There is a very good possibility that the bird will stop flying very soon as a captive bird may get short winded or scared and land just a street over or short distance away. If a bird is partially clipped it will not be able to fly far at all.
3.) Get your information folder and take it with you right away. Check every surrounding street and house around your house. Usually neighbors will know who you are and explain to them that you have lost your bird and ask if it would be alright to check their yard, trees, grass, and bushes. Most people are very willing to let you do this especially if they know you or know that you are a neighbor.
4.) If you do not have any luck with this route then post a Lost Paper "wherever you are able" in the area, Veterinarian's offices, stores, especially Pet Stores close to you. Let people know that you have lost your bird and to be on the look out for a recently found bird. If someone finds the bird they will have to buy food, etc somewhere! or if it is injured, take them into a vet. Schools are also a good place to post about your lost bird. Children often tell one child and a bird is usually very hard to conceal from at least 1 friend. The more people know, the better chance you will find your birdie.
5.) Post over the net wherever you are able also. There a hundreds of bird sites where you could post your lost bird along with a picture. Even go to a bird forum and let people know there that you have lost your bird and what area.
Please keep your birdies wings trimmed and watch your birdies every second. Never leave them alone for a minute. It only takes a second!
If you do happen to lose your birdie, Please Never give up! There is always the chance you will get them back. There are some honest people out there, Thank God.
Best Regards & Thanks so much for your help,
